Type 101 was a brief I created at University as part of my MNP. During my final year at university I became more involved with typography and based this brief around the knowledge of type but more importantly the anatomy of type.

The brief I set myself was to design useful piece(s) of information on the anatomy of typography. The info graphic could be used for designers for reference and yet still stand as visual communication to anyone else

This project was a brief I created at University as part of my MNP. During my final year at university I became more involved with typography and based this brief around the knowledge of type but more importantly the anatomy of type.
The brief I set myself was to design useful piece(s) of information on the anatomy of typography. The info graphic could be used for designers for reference and yet still stand as visual communication to anyone else. The project was spilt into two areas of design, one being an info/graphical piece and the other as “TYPE 101” being the branded element towards the brief. By designing a brand, further work can be added making.
I wanted to design a simple info graphic by showing the word ‘Type’ (each character being on one separate format) and within this, the word was a deconstructed showing only the constituent parts of the character. But also to keep the character intact the non-highlighted parts were embossed, only when you look at it in a different angle you will see the completed character.
